A Visit From Cindy

Cindy flew all the way from Alaska to visit us. We went to Lindon Days with my parents. My Aunt Joy and Uncle Jim were visiting from Texas, too. This is not a very good picture of them, but they are sitting in the back row, with my parents. We were all waiting for the candy parade to start.

Hey, Cindy, cute shirt. I have the exact same one on today! What a coincidence.

Cindy made a bird house for Emily at the fair. It's sitting outside right now, waiting for some bird to take up residence. Emily checks it every day, but no takers so far.

Nicholas and Maddie each made a tool box. On his first attempt, Nicholas bent all his nails and was very frustrated. On his second attempt, he did it perfectly.

Emily wanted this train ride very much.

Nicholas climbed the rock tower.

Maddie climbed it too. Grandma stayed all afternoon at the fair while Nicholas and Maddie played there. What a great Grandma!

And here's a random, but cute, picture of Emily. We all miss Cindy. Come back!

A Trip to Midway and Goodbye to Jordan

Jordan and Natasha and Baby James have left for Texas and are gone, gone, gone. It just wasn't the same without you guys last weekend while Cindy was here. Sure, we had fun. Sure, we still went to Los Hermanos. Sure, we did a little shopping. But it just wasn't the same. We miss you guys! Blog soon!!!

Over the 24th of July we took a weekend trip to Midway and stayed in the Zermatt hotel. My parents and Jordan's family came up for dinner and to visit. Above, the kids all said their sad goodbyes to Jordan and Natasha (getting them just a little wet).

We miss James--such a cute little boy!

Our stay included swimming,

carousel riding,

more swimming,

a little walking,

some putting,

Nicholas beating Darren at the putting,

Emily usually cheating at the putting,

and gelato eating.

Since not quite enough fun was had by all, we stopped in Park City on the way home. Maddie did not want to ride the alpine slide, so she did this trampoline thing and had a ton a fun. My video of it is sideways; if I figure out how to turn it, it may appear later.

Nicholas, Emily and I rode the alpine slide. It was Emily's first time and she laughed the whole way.

P.S. Jordan, if you have a good excuse for your comments in my last post, I'd love to hear it. Do you, or do you not, speak Slovene? (The part about pigs flying just made me laugh, again.)
Good luck in law school!!!
