Point #1 Thought=1 thing. Pinkie Finger=1 thing 1+1=2=but two things.
Point #2 The statement in question is inherently false and therefore does not even qualify for a consideration of truthfulness. Nature does not have the ability to endow man with thought; Heavenly Father does that.
Point #1 Thought=1 thing Pinkie Finger, Hand, Words coming out of your mouth, choices, and whatever else related to yourself=controlled by YOUR thought. Still but one thing.
Point #2 Just because this person who wrote this in 1937 was not LDS and may have had different beliefs (though he was a Christian) does not mean we should ignore what he said, if it could be helpful or thought-provoking to us. Certainly, it is okay for US to substitute Heavenly Father for nature. In fact, I already did.
Point #3 I doubt you're changing my mind on this. We all need to learn to control our thoughts if we want a happy life.
Got to go and get all serious with me on point #2 huh? It is an excellent point Tiffany, well stated.
HOWEVER, I'm staying strong with point #1. I understand that one could not control the pinkie without thinking, that is not the point. The point is a thought is one thing and a pinkie is one thing, THUS two things.

I must take issue with Mr. Hill's statement. I personally have absolute control over my pinkie finger as well. That is but two things. HA!
Write a book.
Wait a minute--don't you have absolute control over your pinkie finger BECAUSE of your thought? So that is still but one thing. HA!
